GravelRiders update

On September 3, my wife and I left St. Jean Pied de Port, France and walked 600+ miles to Muxia, Spain in 48 days on the Camino de Santiago. This was an unbelievable and fantastic journey in many ways, and we’re still trying to recover and process it all.
It is now Halloween and we have been in Porto, Portugal for a week, and we start heading toward the Algarve region tomorrow.

SVT – SnoValley Trail

This is a very popular gravel trail that runs about 30 miles from Duvall to North Bend, but has a missing section in Snoqualmie that has to be navigated.

Palouse to Cascades Trail (AKA Iron Horse Trail, John Wayne Trail)

This is another very popular gravel trail that starts at Rattlesnake Lake in North Bend where the SVT ends. This trail runs all the way across Washington, which is pretty awesome.

This is a very popular and nearly 100,000 acre tree farm chock full of the gravel goods, a true gem in the middle of everything.

Snoqualmie Tree Farm (Washington)

Snoqualmie recreation access permits allow entry to the Snoqualmie Tree Farm located north of Snoqualmie and North Bend, east of Carnation and Duvall, south of Highway 2 and west of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area as shown on the vicinity map. Access is generally open from April 1st to March 30th except July 3rd, 4th and 5th or during high fire danger. Access is allowed from 1 and 1/2 hours before sunrise to 1 and 1/2 hours after sunset.

Snoqualmie Tree Farm (WA) -- Motorized Recreation Access

Motorized access permits allow entry to Snoqualmie Tree Farm located north of Snoqualmie and North Bend, Washington. Motorized Access Permits allow access for individuals and families, defined for the purpose of this permit as legally married spouses and their children under age 18. Spouses in a vehicle entering the property must also have a permit, available through invitation following permit purchase. Permits cost $300 and are limited to 1000 permits and sold on a first come, first served basis. Permits are valid April 1 - March 30.Firewood can be cut or gathered from designated areas and removed in firewood lengths during specific times of the year with a motorized recreation access permit. Up to 5 cords of firewood may be cut annually from April 1st to May 31st and from October 16th to March 30th and it may be used for personal use only. Firewood tags are delivered with key and sticker upon purchase of the motorized access permit.

Snoqualmie Tree Farm (WA) -- Non-Motorized Recreation Access

Non-motorized access permits are designed for mountain bikers, horseback riders, neighbors who like to walk on the property and serious hikers, hunters and fisherman who like to park at the gate and walk or bicycle on to the property. Permits allow access at all times of the year that the motorized program is open. Non-motorized permit holders may not ride in any vehicle while on the property.There are three types of permits available -- annual permit that covers individual or family use and a day permit for individuals use as well as a family day use permit. Spouses entering the property must also have a permit, available through invitation following family permit purchases. There are an unlimited number of non-motorized permits available.Annual individual and family permits are $75. Day use permits cost $10 for an individual and $15 for a family. For the purpose of this permit, family is defined as legally married couples and their children less than 18 years of age.
