GravelRiders update

On September 3, my wife and I left St. Jean Pied de Port, France and walked 600+ miles to Muxia, Spain in 48 days on the Camino de Santiago. This was an unbelievable and fantastic journey in many ways, and we’re still trying to recover and process it all.
It is now Halloween and we have been in Porto, Portugal for a week, and we start heading toward the Algarve region tomorrow.

Check out my Strava feed for the daily postings and check out our new website.
I’m creating our Instagram dealio today, and it’s now time to fire up our Youtube channel. Thanks everybody for all your patience and support.

Every year, gravel bike enthusiasts look forward to a unique challenge that combines rugged terrain, stunning landscapes, and a vibrant community spirit. This late August, Sun Valley, Idaho, a destination famed for its pristine nature and outdoor adventure, will once again become the epicenter of gravel racing as Rebecca’s Private Idaho gears up for its much-anticipated event. With trails weaving through forests and open stretches of scenic backcountry, this race offers more than just a competition—it’s an immersive experience for riders of every skill level.

Rebecca’s Private Idaho stands out not only for its breathtaking route but also for its emphasis on camaraderie and personal triumph. Unlike conventional road races, gravel biking demands resilience and adaptability as competitors face ever-changing surfaces and unpredictable weather. This event promotes a spirit of adventure and self-discovery, encouraging participants to push their limits while savoring the surrounding natural beauty. The combination of challenging paths and the welcoming atmosphere creates a memorable environment that draws riders year after year.

From my perspective, the growing popularity of gravel racing reflects a shift in how cycling enthusiasts approach the sport. Riders are increasingly seeking diverse terrain that takes them off the beaten path, blending endurance with exploration. Rebecca’s Private Idaho captures this trend by turning the rugged landscapes of Sun Valley into a playground for cyclists who appreciate not just speed, but the journey itself. It’s an event that encapsulates a balance between competition and connection to nature.

Moreover, hosting the race in Sun Valley shines a spotlight on Idaho’s potential as a premier outdoor sports destination. The area’s well-maintained trails, stunning vistas, and supportive local community provide the perfect backdrop for an event of this caliber. The influx of participants and spectators alike also brings economic benefits and encourages sustainable tourism, reinforcing the importance of preserving these natural assets for future generations.

As the dates approach, anticipation builds among riders and organizers eager to embrace the physical and mental challenges posed by Rebecca’s Private Idaho. Whether you are a seasoned gravel racer or someone looking to witness the spirit of endurance cycling firsthand, this event promises to deliver a mix of excitement, personal achievement, and scenic splendor. Ultimately, it serves as a reminder that true adventure lies not just in the destination, but in every pedal stroke along the way.
