GravelRiders update

On September 3, my wife and I left St. Jean Pied de Port, France and walked 600+ miles to Muxia, Spain in 48 days on the Camino de Santiago. This was an unbelievable and fantastic journey in many ways, and we’re still trying to recover and process it all.
It is now Halloween and we have been in Porto, Portugal for a week, and we start heading toward the Algarve region tomorrow.

I’m creating our Instagram dealio today, and it’s now time to fire up our Youtube channel. Thanks everybody for all your patience and support.

As the early September buzz fills the air around Boulder, nature enthusiasts and community members alike have a special event to look forward to: the Niwot Honey Bee Harvest Festival. This unique celebration offers a perfect blend of environmental education, local culture, and a delightful homage to the hardworking honey bees that play a crucial role in our ecosystem. It’s a fantastic opportunity to step outside, enjoy the crisp autumn air, and connect with the vibrant community spirit.

The festival is more than just a celebration of honey; it’s a chance to deepen our understanding of pollinators and their essential contributions to biodiversity and agriculture. With workshops, interactive demonstrations, and local vendors showcasing honey products, attendees can learn firsthand about the importance of protecting bee habitats. This educational dimension enriches the experience, making it equally enjoyable for families, educators, and anyone curious about sustainable living.

Beyond the educational aspects, the Niwot Honey Bee Harvest Festival offers a lively market atmosphere brimming with sweet treats, artisanal crafts, and fresh local produce. The event fosters strong connections between consumers and local producers, promoting sustainable practices and supporting small businesses. It’s a wonderful place to discover unique handmade goods and savor the authentic flavors of the season, all while cheering on environmental stewardship.

Visiting the festival also aligns perfectly with Boulder’s ethos of celebrating outdoor activities and cultivating community wellness. The event encourages a slower pace, inviting attendees to enjoy the ambiance of Niwot’s charming small-town vibe and absorb the natural beauty that surrounds us. In a fast-paced world, this festival serves as a reminder to appreciate the simpler things—delicious honey, friendly conversations, and the gentle hum of bees busy at work.

Ultimately, the Niwot Honey Bee Harvest Festival is a meaningful way to engage with both nature and your neighbors. It inspires us to recognize the small creatures whose efforts are vital to our food systems and to embrace local traditions that sustain community resilience. If you’re in Boulder this September, make sure to carve out time for this event; it promises to leave you with a sweeter perspective on life and a renewed appreciation for the natural world.
